New Pittsburg Veterinary Clinic is proud to employ many members of our local Wayne and surrounding county communities. All of our staff are integral to the day-to-day operations of our practice!
Dr. Richard Wiley
DVM - SMALL ANIMAL
Richard Wiley is a 1980 graduate of The Ohio State University. He started New Pittsburg Vet Clinic in Wooster, Ohio, in 1981. In 2018, Dick sold his business interest in NPVC to his partner and now works as an associate veterinarian for them. His professional time is now split 80/20 between small animal medicine and poultry.
Dick and Karen, his wife of 39 years, have a daughter, Taylor. Dick’s personal time is spent training for and racing bicycles where he is a 5 time state champion.
Dr. Wiley has served as an adjunct professor to the OSU College of Veterinary Medicine, and has served as an adviser to Monsanto/Posilac BST from 1994-2002. He has mentored many, many veterinary students from around the country. In 2015 he was awarded the OVMA distinguished service award. Along with his many accreditations, he held the elected positions as a school board member at Northwestern Local Schools, one term trustee to the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA) and two terms as a Board member to the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP) representing Ohio and surrounding states.
Dr. Laura Conley
DVM - SMALL ANIMAL
Laura grew up in Sylvania, OH and attended The University of Findlay, majoring in Pre-Veterinary Medicine with a minor in Chemistry. She attended The Ohio State University for veterinary school and earned her doctorate in 2015. She worked in a mixed animal clinic for over 4 years before changing direction and taking a position as a small animal relief veterinarian (traveling doctor, visiting a different clinic every day) for 3 years.
She decided to jump back into a permanent associate veterinarian position with New Pittsburg, a place where she is no stranger. She shadowed as an undergraduate and graduate student, as well as spent time with the other New Pittsburg veterinarians in professional groups after vet school graduation.
She lives in the woods in Loudonville with her husband and young son, as well as two Standard Poodles, and enjoys hunting many different species, reading and going on adventures.
Lisa Gress
RVT - SMALL ANIMAL
Lisa started working at New Pittsburg Vet Clinic in January 2020.
Lisa has been a Registered Veterinary Technician for over 30 years, graduating from Columbus Technical Institute in 1983 (now Columbus State). She loves assisting with dental procedures, surgery, patients and helping pet parents understand how they can better take care of their pet’s health.
In her spare time she enjoys wood finishing projects, helping her husband and son in the shop restoring tractors and taking care of the young calves on the farm. She and her husband, Joe, have 4 children, 2 adult cats, and one big dog. She lives on a dairy farm in Shreve. Lisa enjoys being a 4-H adviser for Clinton Lads ‘n Lassies, and helping the 4-Hers with their projects.
Alexis Ramsdell
RVT - SMALL ANIMAL
Lexi is a 2016 graduate of Orrville High School. After graduating she traveled to Columbus to attend Bradford Vet Tech Institute. She graduated in 2019 and received her Associates in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. She has since been working as a Registered Vet Tech, primarily with small animals.
Lexi loves painting, hiking, camping and enjoying time with her family in her free time. She has a golden retriever and three cats.
She has been working at New Pittsburg Vet Clinic since July of 2023.
Skylar McConnell
VET ASSISTANT - SMALL ANIMAL
Skylar has been working at NPVC since June of 2023. She is currently studying for her Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology at Kent State University, and plans to work full-time at the clinic upon graduation as a Veterinary Technician. Skylar is a 2023 graduate of Dalton High School and the Wayne County Schools Career Center, where she studied Animal Science for two years.
In her spare time, she enjoys singing with the praise team at church, spending time with her friends and family, teaching her golden retriever new tricks, and traveling.
Sarah Graham
VET ASSISTANT - SMALL ANIMAL
Born and raised in Wooster, Sarah graduated from Wooster High School in 2015. She attended Ohio Wesleyan University and graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Zoology in 2019. Sarah has worked as a zoo intern, a laboratory research technician, and most recently as a veterinary assistant. She is attending Kent State University to obtain her Associates degree in Veterinary Technology, anticipating a graduation date in Spring of 2025.
Sarah has always loved animals and dreamed of working with them since kindergarten. She has two dogs, a cat, and several chickens. In her free time, Sarah and her husband Worth enjoy traveling, hiking with their dogs, Crossfit, doing yard work, and having movie nights. She has worked at NPVC since late 2022 and plans to stay for much longer.
Danielle Giauque
VET ASSISTANT - SMALL ANIMAL
Danielle started working at NPVC in September 2023. She is currently a Veterinary Assistant and is studying to become a Veterinary Technician. Danielle brought her small- and large-animal clinic experience and a love of caring for animals when she joined our team. She has two horses, three dogs, three inside cats, a rabbit, and a guinea pig at home.
In her spare time Danielle enjoys spending time with her family, going to county fairs (her boys show in 4-H), going to tractor pulls and horse shows. Danielle lives in Big Prairie with her husband Shawn and sons Travis, Wyatt, and Lucas.
Laura Craig
CLIENT CARE COORDINATOR
Laura grew up on her family’s dairy and grain farm in northwest Ohio. Though her degree is in Social Work, Laura found her calling in the veterinary field starting at a clinic in Kenton, Ohio that began a 28-year career. Whether she’s cleaning kennels, helping on farm calls, scrubbing in for surgeries or answering phones, Laura has performed just about every duty a vet clinic calls for.
Laura moved to the area in 2016 after moving from an animal hospital in Mount Vernon, and joined the NPVC team in 2021. Laura lives in Loudonville with her best friend Jeff, her dog and three cats. She spends her spare time gardening and renovating her old house.
